Booster Seat Cushions

We are taking delivery on our new 2800 next week. It has the front swivel seats. Hoping that someone from Forest River will chime in here. We would like to get matching booster cushions. Is this possible? They are listed in the new brochure for the MBS series but don't know if they are available for the GTS series.

Thanks!

I was told the FR booster cushions are for the MBS series only. However, there are a lot of good options for the E-450 available on line. All at better prices I might add...

Hint: When I'm searching accessories I always list my E-450 chassis as 2013 or 2014 not a 2016. A lot of websites assume that all E-450 production stopped a couple years ago not just the passenger version. There are very few differences between any of the model years of the current generation of E-450s. If you are looking for chassis parts, as in the drive line, you do want to use the correct model year. We have the newer 6 speed automatic that came out for 2015...

There are also very few trim differences between the Forester / Sunseeker. In the Forester sub forum there is a very good thread on mods to the GTS 2801. See Here. Anything in that thread applies to our 2800's as well. I've found it is a very good place for questions and mods to the GTS...

Thanks! I have been haunting that thread for some while . So many creative people on here. We are excited to be FROGS and hope we have a fairly trouble free unit.

According to my spouse, our dealer was able to order the booster seat cushions for our 2800. Apparently they are not only for the MBS. I guess only time will tell if they are really what we are hoping for. They said it would be 6-8 weeks for delivery and they ordered them by our VIN number. I really really hope our dealer knows what they are talking about!

If they used your VIN that is a very good sign they are now available. FR adds and deletes options so often it is well worth checking with them.

Do you have a PDI checklist already? If you don't PM me your email address and I'll send you the one I used, created from several here, in MS Word format. Since it is MS Word you can tweak it to meet your specifics...

Got it! Thanks. We are currently towing a 2013 Honda CRV. We are curious about your Edge. Is it automatic or standard? We will be in the market for a new toad before long.

Our Edge is a 3.5 liter six speed automatic. The only minor issue with flat towing our Edge is I had to have a battery disconnect installed for use when towing. Ford added that requirement for 2016 as the remote braking system "wakes up" the entire computer system every time the remote brake activates. That caused dead batteries so Ford now advises using a battery disconnect. Not a big deal I had a Blue Sea System disconnect installed at my Ford dealer for $200. I ran a 12VDC feed from the GTS's rear 7 Pin connector in to the Edge to power the Blue OX Patriot Brake System and the TowMate Wireless LED lighting system we use.

EDIT: Click on my Registry link, to the left, and you can see a picture of our complete setup.

Pcryer, anxious to hear about your new rig and learn if you found a source for the booster seat yet.

The booster seats are on order through Forest River. We were told it would be 4-6 weeks before delivery. They were ordered by our VIN number so hopefully they are what we are hoping for.

We are pleased with the 2800 so far. After a night in the driveway and a shakedown weekend at the RV park at Winstar we have came up with a very short warranty list. Taking her in tomorrow to start on the work...only an 8 item list. I was a little worried that it would be a longer list after reading some of the horror stories on here. Of course, we are not as picky as some and we can repair minor stuff ourselves.

Our Big Foot control panel seems to be possessed and comes on when the furnace kicks in. I'm sure it is just some kind of wiring mistake. We knew it was coming on at odd times and it took us a while to realize it was every time the furnace came on

Hopefully we get her back pretty quick as we already have another weekend planned and we kinda like seeing her in our driveway

It sounds like your house batteries may be low. The furnace cycling may be driving them below the low voltage threshold your Bigfoot looks for... Our Bigfoot panel will light when it senses low battery voltage. After a couple weeks storage our Bigfoot panel lights up until the batteries are back to a full charge.
