Most people will agree that it is about torque NOT horsepower. That is why many people in towing like to get a diesel. It has high torque at low RPM's.
I love the Chevy. It does get slightly (according to them 1mpg) better gas mileage. But for towing heavy stuff, the Ford is better because it has more low end torque like a diesel (in fact it is paired with the old diesel torque-shift transmission).
Ford 420 ft lbs of torque @ 3250 rpms
Chevy 373 ft lbs or torque @ 4400 rpms.
On the smaller stuff, I prefer the drive/handling/suspension of the Chevy. On the bigger stuff and for towing up to 7500lbs I like the Ford.
Again, I love the Chevy, it has been bullet proof. Just trying to clarify the differences between the two. I personally sell both, so makes me no difference at all.
