Chevy check engine light

I just got my Sunseeker back form the shop, as the check engine light came on. They said it is a common problem with 6 liter engines something about the throttle.

To day I get the letter from Chevrolet about the problem...good thing they will cover it for 10 years.

One thing about my previous Chevy pickup, it'd throw codes when the wind blew just right. Everything from an engine knock to a loose gas cap and a evap sensor....

The Chevys are notorious for the evap problems. When I worked in a fleet garage when the guys would try to top there trucks off it would plug the evap system and throw the code. So it's best to just stop as soon as the first click at the pump.

Owning all GM products, I picked up a cheap code reader on sale. Nice to know that "check engine" light means my wife put gas in the car.

Best $30 I ever spent.

Now if they could just make a light that tells if she checked the oil!
