Choice of Toads?

HI,
My wife and I are undecided about which car to buy. We will be using it as our flat tow vehicle. We have a 2013 sunseeker 3120 DS with the standard v10 engine.
We can't decide between a loaded 2013 Ford Edge Limited (4,000 to 4,500lbs.) or a 2014 Honda cr-v EX-L (3,300 t0 3,500lbs.) It will be my wife's daily driver. We love all the bling and toys in the Ford Edge but are concerned with the weight. I know, it's within the "limits" of the MH specs but this camper struggles making long grades now. The Honda is lighter and a more "conservative" choice.
Any ideas?
What about a performance chip for the rig?
Thanks
Ed

Can't say which toad you might want but I can tell you my toad weight is about 3500 and could easily do more and it gets much nastier when towing than either class a's that I owned previously without the rock shield and using standard mud flaps if I was going to put something behind me that was really nice I would install the full rock guard on mine

We have a cr-v and love it. It is actually our second one. My wife drives it regularly and we always recommend one.

How do you want to tow it, flat or on a dolly? Figure that out before picking a dinghy because it seems less and less cars can be towed flat now. I have a 2013 Honda CR-V that can be towed flat, but the new ones cannot. Check the link below to find vehicles that can be flat towed if that is what you are going to do.

Reading the info on a forum for the vehicle you are considering flat towing is a good idea.

Case in point, the Dinghy Tow Guide says you can flat tow a C-Max. That is a true statement. However...it can, and often does, drain the 12VDC battery! On the C-Max forum you'll find several folks who killed their batteries flat towing. The work around is to supply a 12VDC feed to the C-Max battery.

After finding out the "gotchas" I went with a tow dolly to avoid all the expense of a flat tow conversion, and the Ford warranty issues, associated with flat towing.

Our 2013 CRV is an excellent toad. The new 2015 CRVs use a new CVT transmission and is not flat towable.
