City water and filter

Could anyone comment and tell me if city (pressurized) water routes through the water filter. I have the water system off and empty right now and want to run an extra water line for the added ice maker. Easier to ask all the pros here then get the HW wet. We are in a 2300.

Typically, if you have a whole house (on board) type water filter all water passes through it from the water pump and from shore water hook up on its way to the faucets/toilet/water heater/fridge/outside shower etc.

Normally, Yes. If you look for the water pump and follow the output line that goes to the water filter you should also find a "T" fitting between the two. That line coming in from the "T" is the city water pressure line.

We've had so many issues with skanky water from rural city systems that we leave home with a full potable tank of our city's high quality water (5th in the nation for quality). We use the CG pressure supply for non-drinking/cooking, but carefully monitor the on-board potable supply as we travel.

Most trips we take are short enough that our potable tank provides all our drinking water. We have had a couple of incidents on the Oregon coast where the potable tank was empty. One particular CG was so bad, we drank wine and beer, even for breakfast, and dumped the tank at the first opportunity.

Definitely check for the T connection Funfinder said.
My unit did not have the connection and city water bypassed the filter. Per the FR design drawings a line and proper connection was left out at the factory. I fixed it myself for a couple dollars in parts but FR would have covered it under warranty.
