Class C cab radio AM reception

I presently own a 2011 Sunseeker 2300, previous to this unit I had a another Class C (1999 Conquest). AM reception on the cab radios on both units was/is poor. Both units have the standard front fender fixed length antenna. Doing some experimentation, it appears the reason for poor AM reception is the fact the antenna is located directly beneath the cab-over overhang portion of the Class C. At the Hershey RV show last week, I ordered a new Sunseeker 2860. I know some Forest River technical people frequent this forum and am wondering if there is anything that can be done before the unit gets built to get an improved location of the cab radio antenna or request a roof top antenna. I'm a big AM listener and DXer, car radios have always been tops for long distance AM reception. Unfortunately, the location of the antenna on Class Cs severely attenuates AM band reception. FM is fine.

Thanks in advance for any replies.
