One thing I haven't seen mentioned is that propane has a pungent additive to make leaks noticeable by smell. If you have a propane leak bad enough to set the detector off, you should be able to smell it. Spray a soapy water mixture or a store-bought snoop type spray on all your propane fittings that you can physically get to. If you have a leak, it will bubble and you may just be able to tighten it up. I had a compression fitting underneath my camper get loose last summer and had to tighten it at a rest stop. Like I said, if you have much of a propane leak, you should be able to smell it.
