Coach battery terminal

The positive chassis battery terminal on our 2006 Sunseeker 3120DS (E450) has broken. Ford says it's not their part. Forest River parts say it's no their part. NAPA-type stores have never seen it before. It doesn't clamp any more. I solved it with a regular carpenter's C-clamp but it's not pretty although it holds on. Any ideas? The terminal has a heavy wire to the starter and wires to three other areas. The thread title doesn't doesn't reflect the correct battery. It's in the engine compartment. But I can't edit the title!

I'm a little confused about what you are talking about. Are you talking about the post on the battery or the clamp on the end of the cable?

Depending on which battery (coach or chassis) it is, it IS either ford or forest river's part, assuming it has not been replaced by an aftermarket one.
Is it a simple terminal ring?
Pictures?

Coach battery terminal

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm trying to describe the terminal on the end of the cables that attach to the positive post of the battery. The battery is new and OK. The terminal has cables that go to the starter, generator, etc. The unit is stored 15 miles away and I don't have pictures...yet!

You need a new terminal end. Autozone, Pepboys or most any auto store has them on little cards on their pegboard.

Remove the NEGATIVE battery cable too.
Try to work as far from the battery as you can.
Remove the battery if you can't avoid hitting the terminals with your tools.
Cut off the old lead positive terminal as close as possible to the terminal.
Use a hacksaw if you don't own cable cutters.
Strip back about 1/2 inch of insulation.
Clamp the exposed metal into the rear of the new terminal.
Install the battery if removed.
Attach the POSTIVE terminal you just fixed to the battery's POSITIVE post.
THEN (and only then) attach the NEGATIVE (ground) Terminal.

Good Luck!
