Cold weather and slides
I'm packing up and heading out tonight. I need to extend the slide to put clothes away. With it being so cold, 22 degrees, will the slide topper and seals be okay, or should I wait?

As long as you don't have any ice formed on, or around, the seals or the slide out you should be fine. But if there is any doubt wait until you can warm it up....

Thank for the response. I decided against it and going to try to drive until we reach 25-30 degrees. Looking like mid to southern TN.

My RV tech said wait for warm weather, even in the 40's following a freeze, he said that the topper is still frozen inside the roll and can cause problems with the slide motors getting out of sync struggling against the frozen topper. Take it FWIW.

You'd have to wait for Florida this weekend! Cold this weekend, 20's, and freezing rain and snow across north Georgia on Monday....

We're in middle Alabama and it'll hit freezing tonight. -3 in Atlanta. When we left a month ago, from Ottawa, the windshield washer fluid was frozen, and didn't thaw till south Carolina. Didn't open slides until above zero (32° for you Luddites down here).

We are know in Knoxville, still cold, but sunny. Sitting behind a class a in the RV lane who isn't pumping gas and I've been here for almost 10 minutes. 😡

Doesn't that just frost your butt when people do that?

Perhaps the -3 was in celcius which is 27 F .... That sounds more likely for Atlanta

Ayup!
Happened to me at a Wilco truck stop.
Young ladies pumped fuel.
Went shopping.
As I pulled away from the lane to go around to the other end of the pup islands I saw them walk over to the vehicle. Not so nice names went through the mind.
Have a safe trip South.
