After perusing a lot of information it seems the the PD converters will drop back to auto mode after 4 hours if you switch to boost manually. For sure, if you are always on shore power you will never need to manually boost, but if you want to maximize the value of running the generator when boondocking, it is a nice feature to have at your disposal.

Now Now Turbs You and me know what a piece of junk that Damn WFCO is, including the single fan which is noisy and creates even more heat. Your going to up set someones cart by calling it Junk and we know the truth about that junk. Even FR is coming around now installing Progressive. plus jack antennas compared to the bat wing. I guess we are just ahead of the curve... Not tobut why wasn't I included to the SPAM PARTY?....

If you still have it, when and if I ever am able to buy my Roo, I may take it off your hands to have as a spare.

I'm not 100% sure what what WFCO the Roo comes with, or I'd take it now, I think it may be the 55?

My GTown came with a Progressive also. Was one of the first things I checked when doing the PDI

Converter has died

Op has a 3170 and converter is mounted in the wet bay on the dry side. I replaced my WIFCO with a progressive and all is well. The blinking lights on the little wizard will give you state of charge. The manual over ride can be used to over ride the charge state. Hope the picture helps. The wizard comes with the converter. The little wizard wire is long enough to install in the bedroom, but opted just to stick it in the bay. The most difficult thing is to get the 110v routed and plugged into the 110v receptacle under the bed. Do not forget the expanding foam to refill the hole when you remove the black foam for the 110v cord routing.

Let me try this again.

Under the bed. There is a 110v receptacle here. And the wizard.

Garrette,

thank you very much for this information. I have had a lot going on the last few days on a personal level and haven't been able to focus on this issue.

Your photos and description are invaluable. I do have a basic understanding of electrical wiring and feel that this is something I should be able to handle. Any suggestions or hints or potential pitfalls would be greatly appreciated.

Again, thanks!

No pitfalls. Unpaid Rv from 110v power and use the battery disconnect in the step well.
I removed everything from the wet bay including the divider and the black flex cover over the WIFCO.
Inside, I stood the mattress up at the end of bed after putting the slide out. Than removed the storage door and wood cover. This is where I used the vacuum to get all of the construction debris. Well, all I could reach.
Find the 110v receptacle and unplug the converter. Start removing the black foam until the wire is free and the hole to the wet bay is clear.
Feed the wire thru Into the wet bay, disconnect the red, white and ground wires from the WIFCO. Remove WIFCO.
Install the progressive using the same screws, attach wires, feed 110v line to the receptacle.
On the inside. If you want the wizard in the bedroom, feed it thru the same hole and mount in a convenient location.
When I plugged in the 110v line, I used a couple of ties to secure the plug.
Double check your work, turn the battery disconnect on and plug in the 110v or run the genny. Check the wizard lights.
After you are satisfied, get your can of expanding foam, red can with yellow top, great stuff and fill everything. Be generous.
Reassemble the wet bay and the bed. Approx total time for me, 3 hours.
Good time to take reference photos.
I may have forgotten something, so be careful. Hope this helps. Sorry about being wordey.

Cool...did it come with the pendant as well? There seems to be some disagreement about whether it comes with the pendant at retail or at wholesale. Pendant is about $12.00 if you need to add it in. It has the Wizard built in but the pendant is an add on.

The unit I purchased, with that part number came with a pendent. I think the units are offered with and with, depending on part number.
