Dashboard clock

What are you doing for a dashboard clock?

We have a 2013 2860DS on a Ford Chassis. There is no clock in the cab. the Magnadyne 4 radio doesn't display the time. Maybe I'm missing something?

I would like a small simple clock whose display I can see during the daytime and at night. But I don't like anything I see on Amazon yet. So I thought I'd look for ideas here.

Thank you!

Dashboard clock

This is what I added to mine. Clock and indoor/outdoor thermometer as well as a voltmeter that monitors chassis battery.

http://amazon.com/FOME-digital-Therm...ords=vst+clock

I put the outdoor thermometer in front of the radiator on the cab. I wanted to monitor air temperature while driving, especially when temps might be approaching freezing. Works great while moving. Obviously when parked it falsely reads temp including built up heat under the hood. Clock works great. Lights up a light blue at night. Has battery built-in that maintains time when ignition is off.

I removed the cigarette lighter plug and wired direct to a power source that is on when ignition is on.

Out of curiosity, where did you mount the clock on your dash?

Thank you!

I have a Chevy and it has two indentations in the dash. The clock fits perfectly in one of them--I didn't even use anything to permanently attach it. Sorry, if you have a Ford, your results may vary :-)

Is this backlit? One thing I want is the ability to see at night.

Not back lit, we rarely drive at night.

The Magnadyne has a setting to add the clock to the main screen. I don't remember the steps but it is definitely there if you want to look and save some money on an extra clock.

I have a 2860ds also and have the same issue. I solved it by buying a formation clock Fine Motorsport Instruments: Motorcycle & Automotive Clocks & Motorcycle and Automotive Thermometers - Motorcycle Handlebar Accessories they are high end clocks for motorcycles and sports cars. It has double stick tape on the back. Stuck in on the dash next to the radio, The one i purchased has illuminated hands so works well at night.

Get a separate clock. My Magnadyne clock has not kept responsible time since purchased unit in Feb 2013. Magnadyne upgraded once and replaced once stated mechanical problems.
Set time and when minute expires time reverts to some unknown choice
GPS unreliable. Replaced with independent unit
Clock unreliable replaced with independent unit.
Radio works and do not use any other features as do not have confidence in unit. When have saved enough will replace with another mfg.
understand FR replaced with Jensen. Anyone know model and history/dependability?

Same for me I have a Sunseeker 2860 and magnadyne sucks. Clock and GPS are unreliable and difficult to use. GPS clock and normal clock change times every few minutes. Makes no sense at all. Looked at all the settings and seems there is no fix. Looking at replacing the whole thing with an Alpine. Only thing is the surround sound may be a little tricky to get to work

My 3170ds came new with a clock already on it...not sure if the dealer put this on after or if it came from Ford like this, but it certainly is helpful when the Magnadyne isn't working! Click image for larger version
