Dometic refrigerator handle

Went to my dealer service about the right side upper and lower door catches not latching. They suggested I put a shim under the plastic under the screws. I tried this and no help. After studying the handles, I got one of the spare handles and used a propane torch and heated the 2 hinge areas slightly and bent them out. I installed it after it cooled and presto, the latch engages and now the release must be pulled to open the doors like on the left side. Time will tell if the hinge area holds the new shape.

Both handles failed on my refrig left side. They must be flimsy (weak) as the 2 new ones I put on worked fine. Pretty sad that they fail after less than 3 months using the MH. I still can't confirm that there are new and better handles. The replacements I got had the same part number as the original ones. Hopefully someone will come up with a part number.

I have a 2014 Bounder with the same Dometic handle issue. With mine it was all four handles had to be changed. They have been changed 3 times and the same issue has occurred. Also there is a 1/4 inch gap between the handle latch and the catch on the refrigerator. The 2016 bounder latches have the same issue. 2 yrs and they have not fixed this issue.
