Door Handle

My 3170DS has always had a hard to open door handle. Tonight when I pulled too hard the inside let go, and the spring and piston shot out. I collected the parts, but now I need to put it back together, since I'm currently a 1000 km from my dealer. Just curious if anyone has had this happen? On another note, if it is busted, would it be possible to get my dealer or the factory to sell me a new one rather than drive up and get one?

Luckily the deadbolt works fine.

I had an issue with the door lock on my 3100 and I replaced the entire lock/locking unit. I did not want to fiddle around with all the internal works. I ordered it on-line and received it with a few days. Relatively easy replacement.
