door stop question

The shock that holds our door from hitting the slide is starting not screwed with all 3 screws to the door, the top screw was thru the flashing, and bending it over time. Can I screw it into the actual door and one screw in the lining, basically just move it down 1/2 an inch. Thanks in advance for advice

I used 3/16" pop rivets instead of screws on mine and it's held for 2 yrs and still holding good.

Thank you for the suggestion. Did you drill thru the door for the rivet or just use a short one and let it do its thing? I have limited experience with pop rivets, but it seems like a better alternative to screws

Just used short ones thru' the lip of the door and thru bolted on the wall of the trailer.
