Driver's side Security Light?

Has anyone added a Driver's side security light similar to the Forester? I also have OCD and can't stand having the blank in my control panel. It would also be nice when setting up at night.

I'm wondering if it would be an easy mod...

I added a light just above the compartment that contains the electric and sewer on my 3170. It is hardwired into the coach but has the switch on the light. Will post a pic when it gets back from crack repair on Friday. Als added a SAT jack on the passenger side so I dont have to run the COAX through the passenger window anymore.

Any tips for drilling into the side? It sounds easy, but just concerned about hitting something I shouldn't.

Thought about going thru right behind the control panel....maybe

I was worried about it also so I had my service center do it. About an hour of billable time for the tech, plus parts.

Rather than putting a light on the side, how about putting one inside the storage compartment aiming out, or would that be too low for your purposes?

I have a small light in the compartment. Prefer the bigger light to be higher up so it illuminates the entire side of the RV. I can see all of the hookups as well as leaving it on when I back in so I don't run into stuff.

As you can see, my 2013 rockwood 8282ws put the work light in front of the wardrobe slide, making it useless at lighting the work area when the wardrobe slide is out. I picked up a 12v magnet-mounted light from Walmart for $5.00, screwed the lid from a tin can inside the driver side cargo door to hang it. Tapped into the 12v wire at the water heater and presto! work light. Pull it out and hang it on the heat exhaust when needed. Took about 20 minutes.

Is this the light that you are referring to? The white component on the decals behind the slide?
