Electric Brake Controller Install Sunseeker 2400WSD

We put down a deposit for a new Sunseeker 2400WSD (Mercedes chassis). We are thinking of using a tow dolly with electric brakes (to meet all states requirements) and for the life of me I don't remember seeing a brake controller. I also don't see mention of one in any brochure, etc. I'm curious if anyone knows if there is any wiring in the cab for the installation of one...

There isn't one but there is a wiring harness either behind the dash or under the drivers seat but I can't recall where. One thing I do remember is that you need to run a #10 wire directly from which ever controller you choose directly back to the 7 pin connector located by the trailer hitch. I had the RV dealership install mine before I picked it up.

I did a search and found this thread that deals with a brake controller install on a MBS chassis motorhome. Post #24 seemed to provide some helpful information.

hope this is of some help.

Don't screw this up !
My bud tied into the brake switch wiring and blew his ABS/Stability Control computer.
Cost him like $1800 at the Merc stealer.

You need to pick up the brake signal from the 7 pin trailer connector that FR installed when the RV was built. It is separate from the chassis computer OR you can go to e-trailer.com and watch the video they have on how to install a Tekonsha P3 controller on a 2016 Mercedes Benz sprinter 3500. I am quite sure that e-trailer would not provide instructions if they weren't fully tested and approved by MB. Nuff said. Time to unsubscribe from thread. Bye and hope you are enjoying independence day
