Engine Size

How do I determine the exact size motor in my 2012 Sunseeker 2450S? It is a Ford chassis. The sticker near the radiator says it could be 4.6L (highly doubt this), 5.4L (doubt this too) or 6.8L (think this is it). I thought the Ford would have a V-10 badge on it if it was the 6.8L, but there isn't one. I bought it used so there isn't a lot of documentation with it.

The reason I want to know is so I can determine how large of a vehicle I can pull behind it. Most likely the vehicle would be a 2 door or 4 door Jeep Wrangler.

I would go to a Ford dealer with the VIN number and have them check it out for you.

Unless you want to crawl around the engine looking for the block stamp, if it's a v 10 just count the plug wires or (coil packs if that's what they use).

I don't know what information is coded within Fords VIN's, but this may save you a trip to the Ford Stealership...

If the eighth digit in the vin is a "S" you have the 6.8l V10

I believe it would also have ten spark plugs.

I usually have grease stains on my fingers and clothes so one could say I'm into that sort of things.but you only have to count 5 on one side so you only need to use one hand right?

I have seen the 5.4L in our motorhomes. Just the small class C's.

Type the vin number off your door into this. It will give you the window sticker for your chassis. Just make sure to use the Ford vin and not the forest river one.
