Extended Warranty

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has any feedback on the extended warranty. I have a 2015 Forest River Sunseeker 3010 and I am considering purchasing the extended warranty. Is it worth it?
Thank you

I looked at two different ones recommended by local Rv service and repair business I went with Good SAMs extended service plan the other extended warranty had to be bought thru dealer at twice the cost Good Sams esp I pay yearly at a little over 300$ 100$ deductible mine is for Four years can drop anytime I haven't ever keep a Rv four years so I don't have to worry with getting my money back if I sell but you have to do maintaince as required by each appliance suh as ref.water heater oil change &filters generator and so on

Dlach, I would suggest that you check into FR's 2nd year warranty that only runs $150-$250, and it is a 12 month extension of the first year warranty. Take the $ that you might use for the insurance plan and bank it for repairs. If needed, the cash is there. If not needed, then you've started a nest egg for the next rv.

I reviewed several of those insurance....re...extended warranties, including Good SAMs, and decided they were just to expensive for the value.

We already have insurance that will cover many problems,...I sure don't need yet another insurance policy,....but that's jmo.

Good luck, either way.

Unless they just made it available, Forest River does not offer a 2nd year warranty for Motorhomes. Anyone know for sure?

2nd year warranty option is for trailers only. Not motorhomes. I called FR about it.

Oh okay,....I did not know that. Talked to a buddy of mine yesterday about this topic. He has a 42' Gulfstream MH and he has the GoodSam insurance. It has paid off for him on several occasions.

Need to change it. Should not make a difference. Sam basic setups. Forest river does not have to worry about the Ford portion on the unit. Had talked to BClemens about it at the factory and he said he has tried to get them to change it. Need a little more pushing. Raise the cost up. Im sure that would not run your owners away from getting it.

Extended Warranty

I've been checking with Good Sam for the last couple years on their program. They have varying prices depending on which way you ask them for a quote. I've noticed that when I mailed in a quote request from the add in the "Motorhome" magazine I received a written quote that was nearly double what I received when I logged in as a Good Sam Member on the web site and requested a quote there (same deductible and options) I think I'm going to go with the GS electronic version, to include tire replacement (not all plans have that - you have to make sure you check that box, also get the Platinum version) and like one of the other's said, you have payment options that work best for you with them also, not that big multi-hundreds check all at once if that's not your style...either way you choose, do your research and see which one suits YOU....

I bought the esp just because of the huge slide on 3050s.The warranty will pay for it self if I ever need to use it for that reason

Check into Wholesale Warranties in California. I purchased a 7-year ESP warranty from WW for $2400.00. I've used them once so far and I received more help than I needed! The even threw in a year's subscription of Premium Coach Net for free. I like the freedom WW gives you for emergency repairs. I'm a Good Sams Member for life but chose another company because of so many folks complaining about how GS about evaluating your claim especially if they can say the problem is caused from a pre existing condition!
