Not sure if it will clear to overhang, have them send a bumper mount one.

Just ask EZ pass for an extra set of plastic velcro strips for your RV's windshield. They mail them out free in case you are switching vehicles or having a windshield replaced. Then you can easily switch back and fourth between vehicles in the recommended location. Just be sure to add your RV's plate number to your EZ pass account in case they ever don't read your transponder correctly and take a pic of your plate. If your plate is on file in relation to the transponder, no fine. If it isn't, you can get a ticket in the mail...

I have mine at the bottom of the windshield in the middle and my sunpass at the top. Both work fine. EZ is on Velcro and sun has suction cups. I can swap with toad as needed!

EZ pass

So how does this work ?? Last winter I was coming up thru or north of Miami. On 95 I think. Not sure. There was a toll road. Never saw a toll booth. Was pulling a toad. Never heard from anyone ??

Was coming thru Chicago in July. Stopped at all toll booths but one. Got stuck out in outside lane. Didn't pay. Was pulling same toad.

So if they don't send you something why doesn't everyone just drive thru. I for sure didn't intend not to pay but it worked that way I guess

You can call your local EZ Pass office. Most have a list of vehicles that require alternate mounting ( license plate mount). You can have multiple transponders on one account so might make sense to have LP mount on RV and windshield mount in to move around on passenger vehicles.

how does it work - they get a picture of your license plate as you go through the toll, run the tag through motor vehicles and then send the bill to the vehicle's owner..... they used to charge you just the toll for the first violation, then add an administration fee for subsequent violations (not sure if this is still true or if they now charge the admin. fee right off) and they do send the bill in the mail here in maryland.
Maybe they didn't get a good pic of your tag?

Got our Sun Pass earlier this summer and it came with 2 suction cups on it. Registered truck and TOWTA's old junker on the same pass.

My windshield mount EZpass wouldn't work. They sent me a front bumper mount instead. NY EZpass provides the transponders for free, some other states charge for them (I think Mass does). The bumper mount goes on the license plate mount with security screws that can be screwed in but not out. To take the transponder off you need to grab the plastic nuts behind the bumper and twist them off.

X2, that's where mine is when not in glove compartment. It is RFID. Does not need to be line of sight. Dont think the overhang will be a problem...

I just put the ez-pass on top of the dash or in the coin holder slot. Has always worked well. Also in Pa some toll roads and bridges are going all electronic with no manned toll booths. If you don't have an ez-pass a picture of your plate and you are taken. You then get an invoice in the mail

The charge by plate reader is the backup to a failed transponder read. If you have too many plate reads you will get a notice to replace the transponder ( Tag). If you forget the transponder once and pass thru a toll, the plate reader will charge your account. You need to have each vehicle/plate registered to the account for that transponder.

EZ pass

We live in Pa. We were sent a separate transponder than our car one because of different weight class. We first put it at the very bottom of the windshield because of the overhang, but it worked sporadically. They sent us one for the bumper and no problems since.
