EZ Pass transmitter location

I have a 2018 Sunseeker, class C on the Ford chassis. I want to get a NYS EZ Pass for it but concerned about the overhang blocking the signal. I called EZ Pass but they were no help. Does anyone have a suggestion where I should locate it on the windshield?

When researching EZ-Pass, I thought I came across some states providing a plate mounted transmitter just for this situation.

We have a 3010DS Sunseeker and just put the EZpass on the dashboard. We move it from vehicle to vehicle so it's not mounted.

I've got one of those suction cup holders for my EZ-Pass, and I stick it on the windshield low, near the dashboard instead of high like where the rear view mirror would be. PITA is that I need to de-mount it when I put the blackout shades in for the evening. My 2400R MBS has that full overhead overhang, so I was worried about it being seen by the EZ-Pass detectors. Not problems as far as I know; I have been charged regularly

I have Ezpass and Sunpass. both mounted at the bottom of the windshield in the middle. No problem in 6 years and 89000 miles of use.

dash

I leave mine on the dash, but I have also put it behind the mirror but below the shading which will block the signal. I also just got my new motorcycle version which comes with suction cups.

I have had some issues with it being placed on the windshield under the mirror. I drive a Class C. I called EZ Pass and they sent me a front license plate one that has worked fine.

I have a Leprechaun and I have mine mounted directly behind the mirror close to the top of the windshield. I have had no issues.

I did notice this past week on the Florida toll road system that many toll booths now say they are accepting EZpass. That was a good surprise.

NY E-Z Pass

I have a 2014 Sunseeker Class C. I have a NY E_Z Pass and had trouble with the windshield version, so I changed to the license plate transmitter.
Also had trouble at times being scanned when it was mounted on the lower license plate mounts. Since using the top license plate holes I haven't had any problems.

Also here is some additional information. There is also a special , lower rate, for motor homes.

I always wondered if you could mount the transmitter up in the overhang, like in a window, but most of the newer Class Cs don't seem to have those.

By ezpass did not work by mirror on my 2500 ts. Ordered the license plate mounted ezpass and that works fine. I did mount the windshield one low on the dash while waiting for the new one and it worked fine but they will sometimes hassle you If it is not mounted where they direct it.

Perhaps depending on your state, be careful about moving EZPass from vehicle to venicle. I did that for several years with my Pennsylvania and later my Virginia EZPass and it was never a problem. When I moved it to my Leprachaun a few months ago I discovered that I had an EZPass that was registered for a two axle, four tire vehicle and West Virginia was not pleased when I went through their tolls with my two axle six tire RV and they did not collect a corresponding toll. Checked the Virginia EZPass web site and sure enough, different class of vehicle requires a different transponder. Check your state rules on this.

On one of my transponders, I have registered my Class C MH, 1932 Ford, 1962 Falcon, a luggage trailer and my car trailer and have used it in almost every state with EZpass and no problem.

Great. That's why I suggested people check their own state's EZPass registration requirements.

Just bought a SunPass in Florida. They said to mount to behind the mirror despite the RV overhang. Worked great. They collected $50 in tolls from me.
