the vent cover mentioned might be like the one I used, the maxxair fanmate. no need to drill the roof for the maxxair, it attaches to the sidewall of the fantastik vent. the fantastik, of course, is attached by screwing the flange into the roof and covering both the screw heads and the edges of the flange all around with lap sealant.

By all means put a Fantastic Fan in the bathroom; however, not the one with the rain sensor. And don't cover it with a Maxx Air cover. You're defeating your purpose!

We had our bathroom fan replaced with a FF and it was well worth it. It is quieter and exhausts the not so nice smells in 30 seconds or less. However, if you do leave it on it will suck some smells from the commode unless you remember to pour a bit more water into the can to cover the seal. I haven't had a problem with smells from the grey tank.

Any exhaust fan will suck fumes out of black water tank if flushed when fan is going gray water tanks will have water keeping the fumes out in pea traps fantastic fan just wi suck the fumes out more efficiently just cut it on when finished flushing
