Forester vs Sunseeker

I have been told there are very few differences between the 2013 3011 Forester and the 2013 3010DS Sunseeker. Any help would be welcome. Great site also.

The Sunseeker and Forester have the same construction, floorplans, furniture, and appliances. The Forester has upgraded fabrics and paint, with some additional features such as more carpeted area. Our local dealer stocks both so the comparison was easy for us.

You can download the brochures from the Forest River web site and check the differences.

Question comes up a lot.
Forester costs more and has some deluxe features which may be optional or unavailable on the Sunseeker. May come down to which dealer is closer and you like better. Here is a summary.

Forester has...

• Skirt Paint (Standard)
• Vinyl soft-touch ceiling
• Recessed glass light fixtures (LED)
Fiberglass running boards
Serta Eurotop mattress (Standard)
• Fiberglass front cap (Standard)
• Carpet (lino throughout optional)
• Floor Lighting (LED)
• Outside shower (Standard)
• Hidden Hinges
• Cedar Lined Closets
• Outside Security Light
Cabinet over doorway
Range cover

We're thinking about deleting the carpet on the Forester too. Seems like everyone is happy with just the carpet in the bedroom like the Sunseeker. Lino throughout might be the #1 request we get on Forester.

I agree, if I were to order another Forester I'd delete the pesky carpet in the main living area. It cleans up nice with a steam cleaner but is flat and dingy within a week of use.

I would love to have nice hardwood laminate in my Sunseeker. Seems like that would be much nicer than lino. Wonder why they do not use this material in these homes away from home?

IMHO weight and cost. Laminate weights much more than lino and is much more costly to procure and install.

And your home is not moving down the road, over the river and through the woods.

I have to say, I installed floating laminate floor in a 25 foot airstream. It may be a little heavier than linoleum but allot lighter than the nasty carpet that previously occupied the space. So far, after 3 years, it has not shrank, bubbled, warped or buckled.

I have a Sunseeker with Linoleum all the way through. I am happy with that. I do have a small carpet area in the computer desk which is in part of the slide out. But I like having Linoleum all the way through and I just put small rugs down.

I have a 2011 Forester 3171, is the laminate under the existing carpet in the dining area? we've thought about removing it but wonder what's underneath.

Is the Forester 3171 similar to the Sunseeker 3170 in that you can get a kids bunk or a computer desk? I'm LOVING the computer desk.
