Free Oil Changes
Maybe this is old news, maybe not. Anyway, I though I would pass it on regarding the free oil changes.
I took our 2014 Sunseeker, 2300 on the chevy chassis, to Terry Labonte Chevrolet in Greensboro NC this past week for a NC Inspection, its first oil change and the recall notice on the torque converter. Some of you may be aware that this dealership was also at one time an RV dealer. Any way, they were the closest place to me that could service an RV. So, I go pick it up and the only thing I had to pay for was the NC Inspection. Service Writer informed me that my first 2 years of service was free. He was suprised I was unaware of that. Fiqures though, the selling dealer wanted to charge me $130.00 for the oil service. What a rip-off!!!!
Service writer went on to tell me they still service RV's and can do all repair work, regardless whether it is the truck part or the RV part. He also told me they even honor extended warranties. Considering they are closer to me and the fact the selling dealer ended giving us a 5yr 75000 mile exclusionary warranty for screwing something up, I may just take it there for any warranty work. That is, unless someone steers me in another direction based on prior experiences. Service writer also told me my oil changes after two years would only be around 45.00. That seems reasonable.
And yes I know it's not really free. They got my money when I purchased it. But it helps to know it's one less thing I have to pay for, at least for a while. So for those that have these units, check with your local GM dealer and Ford dealers to see what they say. Just provide your vin# and they will tell if you have any "freebies".
