Fresh water tank

I'm having a hard time putting water in the tank. It just comes right back out. Other times, no problem at all. I can't figure out what's going on. Anyone else experience this?

I don't have a problem like you, but I bought this filler for my fresh water tank. It's really great because it twists and locks onto the opening and there is a short hose to get the water flowing where it's supposed to. It seems expensive for what it is, but it was well worth it for me.

I was getting ready to ask the same question!

I haven't had a problem until yesterday. I put a little water in, then it just gurgles out, I stop until all is calm, put a little more it, etc...

Looking for a solution also.

Thanks for asking hockeytownmom!

Try slowing up the flow. I find that sometimes the hose in the input blocks the airflow (I know there is a air relief) but I think the input hose from the connection into the tank cannot handle the high flow that comes from a hose. That is why it fails sometimes. Different flow rate. Easy and worth a try.

I had the same problem as you last month. Tried putting it in really slow and also using a funnel I bought from an RV store and nothing worked. Finally took it in and the fill hose was positioned like a rolling highway. They fixed the hose on two ends for better flow and it goes in fine now.

Sounds like your tank vent is stopped up, probably with water forming an air-lock. Blow the vent out and try again. Many times, when the trailer is moved around, water will flow into the vent tube and stop venting. You may also have a low point in your vent line.

I would put a beer on it that you have a low spot on the fill hose that runs to the tank. Same thing happened to us until I got under the bed and noticed the line had a big sag. Propped it up with a 3" pvc and now we can fill in about 5 min!

I will check under the bed to see what I can see. 😊 we only use it to keep some water in while on the road to flush.

No kinks or anything unusual that I could see.

Same problem, I just slow my roll and throttle back on the filler gizmo. Takes half an hour to fill the tank. Fortunately we have "city" water most places we camp.

Shoot. No kinks OR the hose isn't below the inlet on the actual tank, that could create a trap where the water will occasionally "blow back" at you.

Just turn up the pressure of the water going fresh tank and it will blow out the air bubble in the line thru your little air hole on the left hand corner on the fill cap

I had a similar problem when filling fresh water tank sometimes it would come back out as fast as i was putting it in. I did two things that seems to resolve the issue
1 under the bed i had a big sag in the hose so i used tie-wraps to pull the hose up thus eliminating the sag
2 i purchased one of those fillers from camping world and then bought a piece of clear hose and replaced the short one which came on the filler.

I use a clear hose and push air into the vent opening causing the check valve to open, I can then fill the tank full. Works every time.

I keep a rubber washer fill hose that I cut the end off of. One end has garden hose connection and its about 4' long. i put about half it in the filler tube. After that it doesnt spit back out until full.

My hose was mounted about an inch too high under the bed. I moved it down a little and it stopped spitting water out the filler. Good luck.
