Front End Alignment

I know this topic has been discussed and I've read most of it.
My problem is I can't find a shop to do the alignment
Campers Inn way out West of Charlotte NC in Kings Mt is my dealer
They don't know of anyone
Tom Johnson in Concord NC (one of the biggies),all the way east of Charlotte NC knows no one In fact the service manager asked me to call HIM if I found someone
The Four Ford dealers around Charlotte,No Can Do!
Your telling me NO ONE in A huge Metropolitan area aligns Trucks, buses, or RVs
I've read that to have this warranted it had to be done in first 90 days
Well I told my dealer about in at 30days but what can I do if I can't find a shop to do the work
Local Charlotte folks, I need your help, Thanks
I'm looking for a side business
Maybe I found my niche

Call Gmax just east of Concord on 49 and tell them what you have, the length and height and see if they can do it. Great folks , very honest and do good work. GMAX Automotive & Xcessories

No local Ford dealer could even tell you who works on Ford trucks?? Sounds like a call to Ford headquarters is needed. Doesn't matter that it is a MH. A Ford truck dealer should be the place to take it.

On my Chevy, what my local dealer couldn't do, he told me the (Chevy) truck dealer that could.

A lot of dealers can align it, but do not have a bay tall enough to clear the roof.

I used Blacks Tire in Florence, sc. A little far for you to drive.. Look for a big truck shop. They can align it.

We don't use a Ford dealer? Why not just call Alignment shops?

I am aware of one Truck alignment shop in Charlotte but first and foremost I don't trust them cause they tried to rip me off on my old RV on other issues and secondly they will not do warranty work so it's pay someone you don't trust then fight to be reimbursed
The original post was put out my me cause I couldn't believe all the units serviced and sold in this area and not one shop could be recommended by any of the big RV dealers or Ford dealers

FYI I did submit to Campers Inn in Mocksville and within a few weeks received reimbursement for everything except the cam bushings that needed to be replaced in order to bring the frontend to specification. I did not get preauthorization before the work. I submitted via email to Campers Inn. I figured, if you do not ask, you certainly do not get. Good luck. When you go to Myrtle Beach you will pass very close to Florence. Might be an idea.

Not what you asked, and maybe you already know this, but the experience on a big RV forum is that you want your Ford Class C set to maximum caster. Which usually means they have to install some alignment shims or something to let it be set to that position. The caster number of 6 degrees sticks in my mind on this. Supposedly it makes a night and day difference.

They are NOT Ford specs, they are much tighter than Ford specs. I am the one that posted them originally. Those specs were hashed out over 4 years with the help of one of our rental accounts that can put as many as 20k on a unit the first year. So we learned very quickly what worked and what didn't work.

Not sure why you would worry...many others on here have aligned to those same exact specs.

Brian, a few posts indicated that FR may cover the alignment cost if done within the first 90 days. I'd like to take mine in to a local Goodyear truck shop to have it done, but it may be a bit outside of the 90d window since it has been in service at the dealer since October. Is there someone specific I should speak to at FR regarding this?

And thanks for your assistance on our 3050... Word from the dealer is we might actually be able to pick it up this week and take our first trip!

Here's the thing. The alignment specs that I post are much tighter than the Ford spec. Ford will typically cover an alignment to their specs...which are really broad.

There are no guaranties that we will cover the alignment to a more stringent spec (which requires the adjustable bushings).

Mr. Clemens, I searched your old posts to find the specs you discuss above and could not find them amongst you most recent 500 posts. Could you point me to the actual post or repost so I can save them for later?

If you search for "E450 Alignment specs" you get the following. I think it is about 11 threads down.
