funny sounds from convertor

I have 2006 3100 ss. Just got home from nice long holiday weekend. I plugged unit into house power and funny sounds from convertor started. Anyone know possible causes?

If it's a WFCO converter, that's prolly the fan as mentioned. Mine was making a groaning whirring noise for approx. 5 mins after start-up, then it hummed like normal. I don't cherish making emergency repairs knowing damn well those units are unreliable. I bit the bullet and bought a Progressive Dynamics 55 amp deck mount model with the Charge Wizard feature. The nice feature is that it's quiet until the cooling fan is needed. One less thing to worry about when away from home. Progressive Dynamics has a great reputation and I'd strongly consider replacing your converter if it's starting it's 'Death Knoll'

Talking It's OK

Mine was also making a whirring sound.
Running fast & then slow.
Called dealer, - said the cooling fan only runs as fast
and as long as it needs to according to the draw rate
to cool it down.
Probably a normal sound on yours.

Everything he says here is spot on in my opinion!

Wfco converters are junk!
What's worse is there cooling fans are unreliable and when it goes your converter is right behind it.
