Gas Mileage
We're thinking very seriously about buying a 31', V-10 Ford, Class-C. (Sunseeker 3120 DS in this case.) Can anyone with a similar model of recent vintage provide mileage information? Any additional comments would also be welcome.

Brother has a 31 or 33 ft Allegro with the Ford V-10 and gets 7 at best on the road.
His is a class A and I think its an 03

 True, but though I am interested in that, my reason for asking has more to do with calculating cruising range. I hate messing with getting in and out of gas stations any more that I have to.

Seven is not all that bad considering the unit. I'm trying to steer away from a Class-A because of the far greater weight, more sail area and numerically higher rear end. Besides, there are just the two of us and we like smaller campgrounds, some of which are not really set up for for the bigger rigs.

Hi Richard,
WE are going to be picking up our 2007 3120DS next week. Are you sure it is a chevy? To my knowledge all of the 3120DS's are Ford 450's
We were told 10-12 MPG, we averaged out it to be 10 and that is highway without trailing anything..
Hope this helps.. Maybe we'll see ya sometime.. if you buy you'll have post how you like it.

I have a 2005 Sunseeker Model 2900 with the Ford v-10 and I get anywhere from 6 to 8 mpg. I just purchased a Blue OX tow bar and base plate to pull my Jeep Liberty. Don't know yet how that will affect the millage. It sure will not help it (grin).

I have a Sunseeker 2860 and I get 9 mpg if I drive 55. I track my mileage on a spreadsheet. If I go faster than that, I get 7, sometimes 8.

I know that I get better gas mileage when I keep it under 55 mgh, but I live in Texas and it aint easy driving that slow. It would take days and days to get out of the state (grin). Even most of the back roads are posted at 70 mph. I would get run over. . .

a freind of mine has a 2005 33 gulfstream class A ford v10 he gets 6-8 MPG . I pull a 34' 5er with the ford F350 7.3 and i get about 12-14 MPG

7-8 or even 9 mpg sounds great for something that size. I tow a 26' TT with a 1/2 ton and that's what I get. I guess that's life with an rv! I always say if you have the money to buy the rig you have the money to fill it up.

'07 F450 V10 2860, 35K miles, - no towed vehicle, this May, SF bay area to Austin Tx, to Champaign Il, to Laconia NH - running around 60-65, 2 adults, 3 kids, 2 dogs, 2 birds, 3 sugar gliders - trip average was 9 mpg.

We have a 2010 3120 Sunseeker, we live the hills of Pa, and we get on a aveage of 8.5 mpg

The Ford V10 like to drink gas. The MPG are low even in a truck not pulling. I think the gas line for the V10 is 3/4 inch pipe. lol

7 is the avg. for most of us with a V-10 and a high profile. you can probably squeeze 8 out of it but it won`t be easy! cruising range will be good, but keep in mind your going to want to get out once in awhile to stretch your legs.

I pull a Jeep Liberty with my SunSeeker, Ford V-10, and my MPG runs between 6 and 8 at 60 mph.

on a flat hiway i avg around 8.5 to 9.5 using cruise control at 65 mph. i have a 2010 3100 ss and just 5500 miles.
