Generator pipe and bracket rust

Our Rv is 6 months old, was starting to clean it up will be taking our first trip in May. I noticed that the bracket and tail pipe on the generator are rusting. I would like to clean up the rust and put a preventative on. What are my options? I have a Honda gen for our house 20 years old - no rust new Rv and the pipe and brackets is rusting ? Can't they use better quality. If it wasn't for all the great advise on this forum I think I would go nuts.

I use a lot of cold galvanizing on my projects that may rust, or have rusted.
It is available in spray cans at your local hardware/home improvement stores. I liked the older stuff, the last can I got resulted in a sparkly glossy finish where the older seemed to deposit nearly pure zinc.

No doubt the older style was too hazardous for us mere consumers...
