Generator's exhaust pipe

Ok I'm bad, driving in construction zone and it got real tight
and a cone had got knocked down into my left drive
side lane. I Got over as far as I could but the exhaust pipe
hit the darn cone.

Now the exhaust pipe instead of being at a 90 degree
angle is about 125 degrees and the curve of the pipe
got tighter. Any body else have this happen?

I'm thinking about cutting the pipe before the bend
and cutting the pipe after the bend. Maybe
welding it back into place or just buy a new one.

Ideas?

bend it back where it was, use a vise on the part that got narrower. If that doesn't work, you can buy a whole new pipe.

well to put it in a vise I'll have to
take it off the generator. What
is the cost of a new pipe?

I did the same thing. I was on a narrow bridge, and I had a choice between the bridge or cones.

I ended up removing the spark arrester, sticking a metal bar up the pipe and leveraging the bend back. All good.

I did that 2 years ago on the way to Colorado.
Broke my tailpipe hanger.
A few bucks at an auto parts and good as new.

Try a muffler shop they can cut off the bent piece and bend a new one and weld it back.
