GPS Navigation

Just wondering, with the big overhang in front will it effect a navigation device? We took a short trip and the satellite radio had a problem with the antenna on the dash...but we also had sun flare sometime around then.

I've never known anyone to mention having a GPS satellite reception problem with a class C. If you do, I suppose you could install a remote GPS antenna if one is available for your GPS model.

The thing with GPS is that several satellites are used. Even if it the GPS unit won't pick up a satellite directly overhead, there are others "out in front" that should be within direct line range.

I've been turning them on at shows this year and I'm amazed that they are getting a location fix INSIDE the show buildings. Some are better than others...but this past week in Portland, OR it had a fix on my location inside the Portland Expo Center.

We have had no problem so far with ours keeping a signal. As for satellite radio, I have just installed it and put the antenna on the dash next to the gps one. Haven't done much driving yet, but parked in the storage lot its working fine. Our spot faces North which should be the worst for reception, but it is working.

We did a trip last weekend with our Class C using a portable GPS unit and it lost reception serval times when it was inside the cab. It worked fine if it was sitting on the dash next to the front window. Since GPS needs at least three satellites to work correctly, proper reception will depend on where the satellites are located when you are trying to use the GPS.
