Gun storage

Working on designing and weapons storage compartment in this area. Anyone ever done this ?

Thoughts are to have two rifles laying on a rack along with ammo, ballistics vest and a few other small items (flash lights, etc)

I beefed up the center support under our bed and mounted one of these, Amazon.com - DORM VAULT . Granted its just a lock box and we use it for our handguns (we both have our HCP, TN's version of CCW). I got it Bed, Bath and Beyond for $15. It was on clearance and I used a coupon. Its it really secure? Not really but it keeps our handguns away from our 7 y/o.

Looks like a great spot! Will you have room to lay the vest flat though?

Let me remind our members that discussion of guns/weaponry is allowed on FRF only if it is RV related. This thread is walking a thin line. Please keep it RV related or the thread will be closed.

I'll bring it back to rv'ing what do you do when you go to campgrounds that do not allow them, I see that the majority seem to state that they are not allowed??

I always travel with my equipment. I'm a Law Enforcement Officer in Upstate NY. We have issued vests to carry while off duty in addition to our weapons.

Having a secure spot that is also easily accessible by me has always been an issue.

And to answer this question...I have only asked the management when I see it posted that no weapons are allowed. Then I tell them what I do and I get the handshake and am told to have a great day.
