Heat without 30 amp service

I have a 2014 Sunseeker 3050. I will be traveling late February. I have a place to park my RV that does not have 30 amp service only 120vac 20 amp. Can I still use my heat? I know there is a heat pump but is it also gas so it won't need the 30 amp service?

Heater takes a lot of propane. Bring a space heater and run a separate cord to the 20 amp outlet if you can. If not, then manage electricity so you can use space heater and not pop breaker. Water heater and refrig on propane will use far less than heater on propane and free up electricity for space heater.

We visited my in-laws for Christmas and did the same thing. We used the water heater on propane and had an electric space heater which was the only thing we were running on 20 amp 120V. It worked out really well. We did turn on the furnace to start with and set it really low so if the space heater couldn't keep up it would kick on. I came on twice in the early mornings but not for very long. Of course it wasn't very cold was only in the lower 30's at night and in the 50's during the day.

Good to know. Don't think it'll be real cold in lower Alabama (LA) either but who knows this winter.

I've run my heat pump on 20 amp service. Just don't run a space heater or microwave with it on.

I've run my AC/Heat Pump occasionally on 20 amp service. According to my power monitor system, the startup current draw is 17-18 amps, so make sure everything else is off or you will quickly exceed 20 amps. If the weather is warm enough for a heat pump to work, then the furnace would likely not need to run much to keep things warm. I would just use that and save the 20 amps for coffee pot, microwave, battery charging/12 volt convertor, etc.

What type of space heater is recommended? What is the max amps allowed. Your right the furnace sucks up propane.
