Help confused about tires for sunseeker

I presently have Michelin 225/75 R16 lax m/s. Purchased rv used with 25000 miles now have 26k. Brought it back to same dealer for oil change and safety apec. I was told all 6 tires needed to be replaced. Especially rear inside tires which are chopped. Why would they be chopped any why should tires be replaced after only 26k miles. What do you recommend replacing with? Brand, size and E or G rating. Thanks

Michelin actually has a recall going on right now on this size. You might want to see if yours are included. If so, that's six free new tires.

I had to replace mine on my 2011 3170 that we bought used with 30000 miles . the chassis is a 2010 with Michelin tires that were not under the recall. I had Firestone transforce ht lt225 75 r16 load range E installed an alignment done to specs found on this site and a tpms system. after a bought 1500 miles i am happy with my tire choice.

My 2012 had the Michelin tires under the recall. Due to lack of availability of Michelin replacements I went with BFGoodrich and I'm glad I did. They seem to handle better, maintain pressure more consistantly and run 5-10 degrees cooler than the Michelins.
Concerning replacement at 26K miles I don't think that is too bad. RV tires are always loaded at or close to their max ratings not like your car or pickup truck which are loaded well below their ratings almost all of the time. Also most RVs sit for long periods of time and deteriorate from age, ozone and UV.

I had 30+K on my recalled michelins. They still had plenty of tread life left. I bet I could have got another 20K out of them. They just looked weather checked like 20 year old tires. I was going to go with the Toyo's until I found out about the recall from this sits

Yeah tread wear is usually not the reason for replacing RV tires. It's rubber aging issues, ply separation, belt failure or manufacturer recalls for some problems. Between a recall, ply separations and a belt failure I have replaced 14 tires in the last 6 months on 3 vehicles. Hopefully I'm good for a while.

X2 on the Transforce. I put over 15,000 miles on them on my last c class (along with an alignment) and they looked new when I traded it for this one.

My Sunseeker is now 11 years old. When my tires were 6 years old I decided to replace them as there was some tire wall cracking from the sun. I had never had a tire problem. Listening to the local tire dealer he sold me on a Japanese brand because he said the sun didn't have as much affect on the tires. I never got to find out because within 2 years 4 of the 6 tires had the belts snap which damn near shook my unit to pieces each time. After the 4th, I've gone back to Michelin (MS2) and have not had a problem since. I didn't even ask for credit on the last one .... I just threw them out and changed tire dealers. I will not go for more than a week without covering them though. For me, they are the best. (140,000 klms and still purring.)

Michelin will replace the spare also if it is in the recall date code range.

MS2 are 70k mile tires...just had all my tires replaced due to the recall.
