HELP ON ROAD: Side won't completely extend

Hi everyone

So I just pulled into Fort wilderness at Disney, and my slide won't go all the way out. I have no idea what to do. It sounds like the motor just stops when it is about 8 to 10 inches extended. Any ideas please?

I had a similar problem and the slide out owning bracket was loose and getting jammed preventing the slide out from pulling out. White ring on awning.

Reel it back in then have a helper slowly extend the slide while you check around the inside to make certain the edge of the slide isn't hanging up on a cabinet door knob (ask me how I know)..*s. If all is clear and it still doesn't go out fully, repeat the process while outside, under the slide looking for something jamming it up. Last effort would be to use the crank and manually extend it to see if it's the motor getting weak. Maybe others can chime in with other idea's.

Thanks everyone. I figured it out. It was these. Although I don't know what they do. Looks they they loosened up and got caught. Could someone tell me what they do and if I need to have it fixed before the long home on Froday, or can it wait?

I had the same symptoms and my dealer replaced the front motor on the slide out. It was an intermittent problem that did not show an error light on the controller.

EDIT: I believe the parts you just posted a picture of are part of the slide out cover. Where did you remove them from?

That's what I was referring to. That was my problem. They only have one screw and come loose.

There are dealers and a camping world there you can get the parts locally more than likely or straighten out and go buy some screws before you start home. I would replace before starting a long journey or any journey at highway speeds

Sorry it took me so long to get back.

Yes, bclemens and bdifonzo are correct. There was only one screw in these things, even though there are three holes. The screw came loose and it got caught in the awning.

I am so dissappointed in Forest River. I'll never buy another after this one. I lost two hours of time with my family, added tons of stress and spent $100.00 on a mobile RV repair guy.

Anyway, thanks guys. I appreciate it.

Every company has good units and bad units. I have seen some serious issues with $250,000 motor homes from supposedly top of the line manufacturers. You take the good with the bad and move on.

At least yours was an easy fix and not a life safety issue.

If I had a dime for the old "I'll never buy another XXXXXX brand" whatever, I'd be a millionaire.

Thank you stars it wasn't something really major with that huge slide.

We do have repeated problems with ou full-side slide. Taking it in for 3rd time of not going out. Also the propane line gets pinched and I cannot cook on Cook top.

I am glad you posted this, we have a 2016 2700DS that we bought late last season and have only taken a couple of trips in. After reading this I checked it out and found our bedroom slideout was missing the anti billow device the stop is there but no device. Will be calling our dealer tomorrow.

That happened to me in my 3170 and I had broken a "pin" of some sort. Fortunately I was still under warranty at the time and it was an easy fix.....

But the problem was not a Forest River product. No need to blame it on them. Most likely a Dometic Topper. Contact them about it.

OMG, same thing happened to me with a 3170. Anti-billowing device got loose and bent all to he##. Slide would only go about half way out. However, I kept trying it a few time and screwed up the sync on the motors and then the slide wouldn't go in after I took off the device. Dealer called Lippert and resync'ed the motors. Straightened the device and reinstalled, all is good.
