I have a 2014 3010 Sunseeker and I had a Winegard Pathway X1 Portable Satellite and a Dish VIP 211z Receiver installed. When I go to bed I shut off the TV and receiver. During the night the satellite searches for updates. That is according to Winegard. Each night I have to disconnect the coax cable from my receiver so the satellite will not wake us up by searching. Any ideas would really help. Winegard said I cannot install a disconnect switch that would bypass the receiver.
My Tailgater does the same thing. I usually don't notice it though.
You could always plug your receiver into a power strip/surge protector. That way you only have to flip a switch.

I also have one mounted on my roof of my 5th wheel. I connected the 110 line to a regular wall switch and box behind the TV. When we're heading for bed I flip the switch off and in the morning while the coffee is brewing I flip the stitch on and let it search.
Hi Bednarski1 I have the Dish VIP 211k receiver I am not sure how much is different from the VIP 211z receiver. with the 211k push the menu button on the remote this will take you to the main Menu. Next arrow to preferences push select. this will take you to the preferences menu. Now arrow to the updates push select. this will take you to the updates menu. Now arrow over to the please set a time for daily updates. select AM or PM When you will not be watching programming or recording on external hard drive. Now arrow over to the time you want the receiver to up date the time that will it will update enter the time arrow back over to save and this should solve your problem.
`Hope this helps Tim
