How's this happen? Gain 600 lbs. in a year
Perusing through the 2014 Sunseeker and the 2015 Sunseeker sales brouchures. The 3100 SS model gained 600 lbs. in the past year in UVW. Doesn't look any different and doesn't appear to have any substantial material or equipment changes from 2014-2015. Are these weights accurate? Are any actual units weighed at the factory for realistic weight
statistics?
2014 stats. 11,900 UVW
2015 stats. 12,500 UVW

Could be an error. I'll have to check my engineering specs.

I read on this forum that FR weighs each Class C when it is complete, so the cargo capacity on the door sticker is correct for the vehicle. It is not based on a sample vehicle with the weight of options added to the sample weight, which may or may not be accurate.

Last brochure the 3100 got left off. This year when the printer added it back, instead of going off the specs I gave him, looks like he just copied the 3170 over.

Well, that is where I'm a bit confused. The top pic in post #1 is from the 2014 sales brochure. Do MH manufacturers really weigh these units? Just a couple? Or everyone as someone stated above? Thanks for the response.

Yes, all units are weighed. There was a recent picture on XLR's Facebook page of their factory build process and it included their scales setup.
I would assume the brochure weights are from a combination of engineering drawings and weighing prototype unit(s).

I think it all depends on what is added? another chair? Dual air conditioning? Chrome wheels instead of aluminum. It all adds up to added weight. This is why each unit is measured specifically when it leaves the factory. I believe that the label is printed for each unit as it leaves the assembly line.

Nothing was added, this is just an error. Brochure guy thought the 3100 was coming out for some reason. When I added it back in it looks like he just copied over the 3170 and never changed the data. It will be corrected on the next printing.
