Well, like me, if you bump your head enough you will automatically duck when you need to. It's called muscle memory. 😚

Repetition is the best answer..... After 5 or 6 times you will eventually stop doing it.

I have been contemplating getting a hard hat for when I am in the storage compartment under the wardrobe slide. I have hit that one numerous times.

Based on you hitting your head numerous times, you would probably forget the hard hat also.

My daughter stood right up into one on our last 5th wheel. It cut her head open and we had to rush her to an emergency room. While she in getting taken care of, I ran to wall mart and got a couple of those noodles. Now I just tell her to stay away from that side of the trailer. It was out first one with slides so we just didnt realize how easy it would be to get hurt on it.

So sorry to hear about your daughter. I'm only 5ft hit my head lots in the beginning, till I mentioned it to my sister and she said we use pool noodles. I do and they work, but I am more careful, I unload everything when slides are in and reload when they are back in

I learned my lesson
One whack to the left shoulder and now I slow down and think
"There is a slide out above me"
But I worry about others that haven't learned yet
So I used the pipe insulation I had extra around the house
It's less obvious than the noodles and the foam is denser.
I don't think seeing it (bright colors) is going to help
If you saw it you wouldn't whack into it in the first place.

I would think a good old fashioned road cone placed a foot or so away from the corner. We use them all over the place at work.

Of course, be careful you don't trip over the cone!

Just a little pain

Boy o boy. Just let somebody get hurt and out come all of the comedians. Seriously just dig a hole under the slide when you park just deep enough to clear your head. 😂

So our 3170ds also has compartments under the slide out. After one head hit, I took pipe insulation tubes and placed them on the bottom edge of the slide out just above the exterior compartments.

Can cut noodles that you use for the pool to fit around slide out

Don't know if I am happy or sad to see that I am not alone. I feel like such an idiot because I never seem to learn. I cracked my head pretty hard this weekend and fortunately did not break the skin. I am going to have to get some pool noodles.
