Pull very thing out of the compartments before opening slides. When packing, pull slides in before putting stuff back into the compartments.

They sell corner pads/cushions (or whatever you want to call them) at the camp store. They are triangular in shape, made of a rubber-like material, and they are peel-and-stick and are permanent. Mine are white and match the MH. They don't interfere with closing the slideout. I got them after I almost cracked my skull open on one of the corners.
