importance of dealer?

I've read comments here about how important your RV dealer is. We are buying out first Rv ever from a dealership that seems reputable but is relatively unknown to us. There are no dealerships to speak of in our small town so we traveled over the mountains and found a good deal on a 2011 Sunseeker with low mileage. We have taken it for a drive on freeway and dirt road, checked car fax and secured it with a down payment. We downloaded a checklist to use during our walkthrough and forwarded it to our salesman. They are including a 4 year extended warranty on the coach as a part of our agreement, but we don't anticipate driving back to this dealership to have work done. We pick it up next Wed. What else, if anything can we do to make sure we are not going to regret purchasing this unit from this dealership? Suggestions appreciated.

Can you camp there for 2-3 days and try everything , before going home ?? Knowing that everything works should help some

This is a great idea. Make sure the dealership knows that is part of the deal. They may have rules against it if it is a secured storage lot, though.

If it is a "no go" then find a campground close to the dealership. We had planned on doing that if we needed to buy from RVWarehouse (a 3 day trip to the dealer in that case).

I too agree with dretired and Herk. Camp for a couple of nights before taking it home with you. Test every appliance and feature of your class C before driving it back home.

When we recently purchased our Silverback we spent the next two nights at an RV Park that was just two miles away from the dealership. I wanted to be able to have any issues we might find fixed before I hauled the fifth wheel 100 miles back to our house.

We traveled 8 hours to get a look at our Windjammer planning to go back home and order it locally, but the folks at Ted's RV treated us right and we bought it there didnot plan to travel back for service but they took great care of us on that too. A great dealer can make your experience great.

Try and make sure the "Extended Warranty " is good ( will be accepted) everywhere ..and includes all mechanical parts..and will it include the Truck part of your motor home ?? Its a class C correct ??

a good dealer relationship will also help you greatly with the factory, if there are problems that cannot be rectified by the dealer the dealer will be your advocate with the factory, without them your complaints will not get too far up the chain.

Centennial RV is right there in Grand Junction, family owned authorized Sunseeker dealer. They should take care of you. They can't fault you if they didn't have anything in stock.

We haven't been very impressed with centennial when we've gone there... hopefully authorized dealers wherever we are will work with the extended warranty... How can we find out?
