Inside Heat

Is the inside heat operated on electric when plugged in or does it always operate on propane? We have a Sunseeker 2014 and LOVE IT!

Mine is always propane. 12 volt so it doesn't have to plugged it to work. Most people by a electric heater and use it to heat camper. Its free heat when at a campground and save your propane.

Just check the amp rating on the heater you buy, too big and it will pop your camper breakers. Especially if you use something on the same circuit.
You could run an extension cord from the 20 amp pedestal plug to the electric heater. Just throwing out info for ya.
We enjoy winter camping around here!

We have the heat pump option on our Sunseeker. It works only when plugged in or when the generator is running. We also have the propane furnace that can be used without being hooked up.

Check your thermostat to make sure. The very last setting on the left of it would say heat pump. If it does not you do not have the heat pump option.

I turned our heat pump on last night but it got below freezing and I learned from the Solera thread that at about 30 degrees the heat pump doesn't work. We have the 15k btu ac and I'm now curious if the furnace automatically kicks on when you have the thermostat in the heat pump position? MrJoe also commented on that thread but I'm still unclear if how to leave the thermostat setting?

The heat pumps today work down to
Freezing. Changing from heat pump to furnace is a manual action not auto

Ok great! We have the Heat Pump option on out Sunseeker so it will be good to run in freezing weather or should we use the furnace?

Give it a try to see how it works based on the outdoor temps. I left my camper overnight when it got down to freezing. With the thermostat set at 62 it was comfortable the next morning.

So set the furnace thermostat to come on when the heat pump goes off. If necessary use 2 separate thermostats.

A heat pump is an air conditioner with the ability to run backwards, basically. With the heat pump option, my air conditioner produces heat instead of cooling when heat pump is manually selected on the thermostat. It will blow warm air from the ceiling outlets. It will not provide heat to the basement area nor will it work below ~32 degrees.
