Are you sure that's an inverter switch? Looks more like your battery cut-off. If it IS for an inverter then it should be off when your on shore power. If it's your battery cut-off then it should be on.

I can't really make out all the writing around the perimeter, but is that a "DC" around the bottom left over there? If so.. that is your battery disconnect and should be "ON".

Edit: I take that back.. kinda.. I guess if someone put in a cut-off switch to an inverter so they didn't have to physically access the inverter itself.. that would be a DC switch too.

If that's a battery disconnect it is one of the most rediculously labelled switch for a battery disconnect. Does the "ON/OFF" refer to the disconnect or the batteries? Gotta check the manual.

I agree! But then again, if it's an inverter switch it is one of the most ridiculous remote switches I've ever seen.

You CAN find out. Disconnect from shore power, turn on an overhead light and flip it to off. If the light goes out it's your battery. If it doesn't it just might be an inverter as titled.

Its the battery disconnect switch, I have mine on when on shore power as I was told you need it on for the shore power to charge your house batteries. Also if your shore power goes off for any reason you need it on for the refrigerator to switch over to gas.

That's a true statement. Always leave it on when hooked to 110v so your charger will work and your converter.....

It IS the battery disconnect. It is a switch we found that i used in the marine industry...not sure why the labeling is ridiculous.

ON-means power on
OFF-means power off.

You need to have it ON to charge the batteries will plugged in.

At some point this year (right around the same time we switched to the progressive dynamics converter), we started wiring the convertor charge line directly to the batteries, so the switch position will not matter on late model 2015.
