Sounds like a great trip. Trips such as this is the reason we bought our TT, once my DW can retire. BTW Apparently IL does not strictly enforce their 3 hour time limit in rest areas.

Just got home from looong shakedown trip in 3170ds. Just Yorkranch gal and trusty Labrador Beau. Went from Central Ca to Boise,Id to see ailing bro, then to Sheridan,Wyo to see oldest son and new daughter-in-law.DH had recent shoulder surgery, so stayed home to feed horses, dog and cats. I did 2 16 hr days! Boise to Sheridan going, and Boise to Bakersfield on the way home. Too long! Too windy! Glad to be home on Central Coast. Had a few minor problems: lost a pass. Side fender skirt somewhere ( lots of bumpy road work),shower door latch gone(?),cab vent/ac doesn't always come out vents-switches to defrost on it's own! ,light over table only works when all lr lights on- and did the stupid infamous boohoo- left the water pump on when hooked up to cg water! It backed up into the tank and over flowed. Hope the pump's not ruined.Couldn't find a tank drain valve so just used tank water. Any advice? Have apt at dealer Nov 5 to take pictures for warranty work. Hope for easy fixes. Don't recommend 16 hr driving days! Yorkranchgal

When I was 10 my mom took us kids on a trek from Washington to Arizona, and back. I will always remember that trip.
Way to go to make lasting memories for your kids.

We did a ton of research ahead of time with campground info for every spot and we just called ahead before arrival. We were never turned away due to campgrounds being full. I will try attaching an image here, not sure how it will look in the thread.

What program did you use to make this map?

@Yorkranchgalandguy. Do you mean the fresh water holding tank valve? If so it is on the passenger side 2nd to last compartment. There is a small access door in the back of that compartment and the drain valve is tucked away behind that panel in front of the water pump. Hard to see but just enough room to get your hand in there and open the valve. Is that what you were talking about?

The program is Google Maps, it allows you to enter as many destinations as you like and simply routes the journey from point to point.

Yep that's what I couldn't find! Thanks. I hope the pump's okay-it works, just haven't tried hooking up hose to see if it back flows into tank still. Thanks again. Yorkranchgalnguy.

Glad to see that you went ahead and did it your way !! We took a month in June and went from Arkansas to Yellowstone, Tetons, Glacier, Crater of the Moon Albuquerque then back home. Wish now we had driven a little more and gone on to Northern California.

Is there a way to do this?

My husband and I are planning to take his parents on a road trip in the next few months. They would like to see both Yosemite and Sequoia. Can you camp someplace between the two and use a toad to get to both?
