I put the connection over the top of the front tire on the suspension. This protects it from blowing rain. The inverted bucket is a great idea. I'm going to do that in case I need to run the extension cord behind the coach. I've seen ideas of putting all your shore line hoses in a bucket and only pulling out as much as you need. I may do that and just remove the hoses on the rare occasions I need the bucket for the extension cord. That way I would only have to carry one bucket.

Agagahhhh, my brand new, brilliant idea fifty foot extension is five feet too short to keep the connection within the RV compartment. So I still may use the bucket method.

If you use a surge protector, I put a plastic baggie on it to protect from rain. Cut a small hole in bottom of baggie, put plug through hole, and duct tape the hole around the plug cord. the rest of the baggie covers the surge part.

Also, don't let rain collect on your slide out toppers. When it stops raining, pull the slides in, then back out to get the water puddles out of the slide toppers.
