Not sure if this would be the same thing I found, but I'll tell you what worked for me. I would plug my camper in and the radio outside would come on. What I was doing was putting the radio into mute and not turning it off. When you hit the power button quick it will be in mute. You can see that on the screen. Hold the button down for a few seconds and it will turn it off. I haven't had mine come on by itself since I found that out.

Ha! Camping and just a few minutes ago DW asked what is that hissing? Damn radio on again. I am just about ready to remove that radio and turn the space into a four bottle wine caddy. 2.5 years and the radio just comes on all by itself. No rhyme or reason.

If you have a magnadyne unit, just pushin the reset button and hold until it turns off. Of course you will loose all of your settings and saves. Located in lower left corner. Use a ballpoint pen or appropriate object.

Yes we have the Magnadyne,,, we know how to turn the complete unit off,,, just have never found a way to only turn the radio off ???
Because of the very poor reception we never lesion to it anyway !!!

Last year after we bought the MH,,, we keep hearing something that sounded like music,,, even though we had the volume as low as it would go,,, I traced it down to an outside compartment under the dinette,,, it was a Sub Woofer,,, that sub woofer has been in a box in the basement ever since !!!

On the Magnadyne, if you want the GPS on but no radio, tune the radio to a source that you do not actually have (AV1, XM, etc.). You will not hear anything, but will still have the GPS audio.

I added a switch

I had the same issue in my 04 Winnebago. Outdoor radio would come on by itself. So I added a toggle switch. Just did the same on my New Forester along with changing the Upper outdoor speakers from dash radio control to the Outdoor radio. Switch by radio cuts power to radio and TV.

Yes, we had the same issue with our Jenson radio coming on by itself. The first fix was to put a cutout switch to cut off the 12v power to the radio, when not in use. After the installation of the switch, we developed another issue with the radio. While in FM mode, it would start trying to load a CD, which was not inserted into the radio. Primetime finally sent me a replacement Jensen and I have not had any issues to date with the replacement.

Do these have a DVD player built in to them? I am not around my rv to check.

I noticed the sound on the radios were pretty bad, was thinking about ripping them out and putting a decent system there

If you are talking about the dash unit,,,
I believe the problem in the antenna !!!

Outside, yep. No cure short of removal or isolation switch.
