Jensen VM9726BT remote isn't working in our new 3010
Hello all,
We can't seem to get our Jensen remote to do anything in our 3010. We've replaced batteries and even had dealer send a new remote to us and alas, nothing happening when we tried the new one??? We've checked to see if it sends an InfraRed signal and we don't see any (using a digital camera you can see the light from an IR remote if it is working). Any one else have a problem with potentially 2 bad remotes? Hate to send another one back to dealer to be replaced but will if needed.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
BTW, here's our newest addition to the 3010 a decal:

The remote has a dvd and I think a tv button. Did you press the tv button? If it is selected on DVD it will not operate the tv

Is it the remote for the tv or head unit? BTW, how is driving a V10 green?

Being Green is Easy
First, it is the Jensen remote for the head unit, it does nothing when I push any button from power to ... This is the second remote that has done/not done anything. I checked to see if the remote is sending any signal and it is not. I will send it back to dealer and hope to get another that works or a new head unit or ...
Now to Being Green - the V10 is not green but the Sunseeker along with a handful of other FR products are being built using Green building practices, check out the certified green rv website: Green RVs
to learn more about models and what the certification means. Secondly I practice as many Green living principals as I can on the road and at home (reduce, reuse, recycle among them). Lastly, I am in the process of seeking out as many 'features' as I can to add/augment my 3010 to make it more Green - always looking for ideas and suggestion to that.
Best part about that decal is that it gets a conversation going on being Green and that has to be good. It really is easy being Green.

You're using that mini remote, correct? Not the full size one for the TV.

Using the remote that is pictured in the VM9726BT manual
Yup, using the right remote, not sure I'd call it a mini, it isn't the TV remote and it is the one pictured in the manual.

Assuming you replaced with new batteries or at least tested the voltage and they are installed correctly, it must be another bad remote. That's some bad luck to have two bad remotes.

How to get remote working
I had the same problem you indicated so I thought I would look into it in more detail.
I found the battery was not making contact to the positive terminal.
The positive tab, on the side of the battery holder, needed to be lifted so it made contact with the back of the battery.
Gently pry the positive clip up a bit enough to be able to slide the battery under the clip. The clip should make contact with the back side of the battery.
That's what I did and now the remote works....
Hope this helps!!!

Yup came with new battery, but also tried another battery. Also did pull the tabs up on the battery holder. Still no go. Suffering from really bad luck as suggested. Will call dealer and see what else they can suggest.

The only other thhing I can think of at this time. Is there power to the radio, I mean is there a red ring on around the volume knob? My radio gets power from the coach batteries. When I turn on the coach batteries, the ring around the volumn control turns red indicating there is power to the radio, when I turn the radio on either by pushing the volume knob or using the remote, the ring turns green.
If that doen't do it, let me know what the dealer says....

The system gets power, has the red ring. It works well, except for remote. Will let you know what dealer does for it.

Wow, this forum is great - I installed battery as shown and I am now seeing an infrared light on my remote. I trust this will now work when I get back to my 3010 (in storage so will have to wait a few days till I get round to it to try). Thanks so much!
I hope the others who've noted this problem will also try it out and post results.

Any luck on this matter? Does the big remote work when the dvd button is pressed. I am getting nothing from the front unit to the remotes. The big remote works well on tv only.
