K&N Air Filter/intake

Has anyone done a K&N air filter/intake conversion to their E450 C class? Thoughts?

There are a couple of threads on a K & N filter change. Perform a search in the forum. I'm pretty sure there was a an F-450 involved as I'm thinking of the change myself.

I only replaced the filter with K&N, at time I did it there wasn't a listing for 2014 intake yet.

Just did a fast check on line, there is a listing for 2014 now. Part number 77-2570KTK , list price 673.86 on line for 409.99. Said to give 17.48 more HP @4101 rpm

The V10 does not normally run in that RPM range.
Might be a help when getting up to speed but not cruising RPM,

They advertise peak HP gain (and thats at 4101 rpm ) you will still gain some more HP at lower RPM.

Personally I trashed the K & N set up that was on my truck & replaced it with a AFE set up. The AFE was 10 times the quality of the K&N. The AFE also fit the truck much better. A service rep for the dealership suggested it & he was right.

Yep. Did mine last year on my 2014 3050. Got it off EBay for about $330. Same part # as mentioned above here.
I also installed a true free flow muffler and then chipped it with 5 Star Tuning SCT tuner. Big difference!!!

Better shifting points, better towing, mileage and powerClick image for larger version
