So, what happened to "almost paralyze" you wife? What is it that makes it worth spending the big bucks? Don't get me wrong, the new couch looks awesome, but a little explanation for the upgrade might be helpful to others.

Did you need to modify the slide at all to allow this to fit?

Most factory furniture that calls itself a “bed/sofa” even like our unit was advertised, were pretty poor at both designs. As a sofa....too upright to sit in long term, and as a bed, the mattress designs are too thin or there’s a metal structure beam in your back.

We also upgraded to a zero clearance reclining love seat from a real furniture store. Very comfy for relaxing in, and in a real pinch, not a bad bed for the night.

That said.....we’re not a hotel.

I totally agree... Forest River should be ashamed to put such a piece of junk in these rigs and call it a sofa. We traded our Sunseeker up to the 2019 Forester 3041 DSF which has the same pathetic jackknife sofa, HOWEVER, it is opposite the the U-dinette which we did not want to loose, and it is NOT on a slide. This gives us a lot more leeway as what to replace it with. I checked all available theater seating which is what you got... looks comfy but not for a very tall person. At 6'5" they never have a high enough back to rest my head when in recline. We swapped it for my kingsize lazyboy recliner, which could never be used on a slide without adding some kind of slide extension and rollers which would permanently narrow the walkway. But on the non slide side like in the 3041, it is perfect... I added a side table for my computer. It slides back against the wall and seatbelts in place when traveling and we disconnect seat belts and slide it out and angled toward the front and the TV. The DW makes herself perfectly comfy in the U dinette and I have my lazyboy. But for a shorter person, the theater seats to replace the jackknife sofa should work as well. Advantage to my setup does not inhibit from putting the passenger seat in full recline mode when driving, another plus.
