We just slid the spare over to the side, then used the regular hitch type (on our former TT). It was one of those square mount receivers that used the u-bolts to mount to the trailer. Worked out fine -- spare got one side of the bumper and the bikes (4 of them) go the other, although the bike hitch was closer to center. Additionally, we used the hitch for one of the hitch haulers when we had big BBQ grills to tote along.
