Ladder or not

My 2013 2650S does not have a rear ladder installed. I currently carry a fold out ladder in case I need to access the roof while on the road. I can get a new universal ladder for $100. Is it worth the effort to install the rear ladder? I am not sure where the mounting areas would be on the rear of the RV.

I dont have a ladder and I dont carry one. In order to mount one you need to have reinforcing behind the rear cap if it is fiberglass. If the rear is thick plywood you could mount one. the ends of the horns just sit on the roof and the flanges get screwed on and sealed. I dont know what the capacity would be for an aftermarket assembly. I needed a ladder one time while on the road. Had no problem borrowing one from the park.

Ladder yes! A telescoping ladder is one of the best purchases I've ever made. This thing is so handy and so compact. Keep it stored under my bed even though my TV has a ladder. I don't care much for the RV ladder as it is too narrow for me and I don't like the jump down from the last step via the bumper.

How a ladder can save your butt:

Use it to cut tree branches going into or out of your favorite boondock campsite.

Brush off leaves and debris on top of your slide before closing it.

Awning tear repair with eternabond tape is easy with a ladder.

Replace burn out visibility (marker) or scare lights.

Get on the roof for maintenance/inspections etc..

Us ,too. Ladder works well for installing the winter cover & spring clean up.Plus as a mount for the Tailgater dish . Better to have than to have not ,IMHO !
