Yes, new gauge will peg to 100% (actually buried) even if I use the magnet to set it somewhere else before the install.

I added 7.9 gal of propane to the 12.2 gallon tank.

What I would do is buy a new float assembly for it and keep it with me. Then run the propane until it runs completely out and then replace the float.

The other option is to buy the float and take it to a dealer and have them pump the tank empty and replace it for you. I personally like option one best.

Update:

New seal stopped compartment leak.

Weld failed and water heater was replaced under warranty.

LP tank was replaced under warranty.

Propane is working but we're winterized in the snow so fingers crossed that we are ready for spring.
